Fuel Pressure Sensor Help
Ok just picked up an 03 3500 and pretty stoked about it. Just traded in the 02 f 350. When I took it for a test drive it was still in the shop. The tech told myself and the salesman that it was a fuel pressure sensor that he had just ordered. So I waited the few days while they detailed it and got the sensor replaced. drove it of the lot and in a matter of 10 miles the engine light came on and it started to sound like a 2nd gen cummins with very limited power. It is going back in on Monday. Just wanted to get some help on the matter. A little leary of a new truck for me that is already going into the shop. Thanks for the input.
Ok has any one had this problem? or is there something else I should be looking at. I just want to make sure that I get this taken care of before the warranty expires. Some one throw me a bone, thanks.
sounds like it could be a bad rail pressure sender. When i first plugged my quad rail pressure sender into the OEM sender i had a bad connection and it stumbled very bad at idle and died. New connecter and a zip tie just to be sure and no problem yet.
But it could be several other things as well.

Perhaps not the pressure sensor but actually low pressure? From what I have been reading the lift pump goes south then it takes out the injection pump. But I will defer to the experts for more input...
Good Luck,
Good Luck,
On an '03, you have a Bosch CP3 injection pump. Before the '03, it would have been a VP44.....notorious for crapping out after the lift pump goes out. The CP3 is way more robust and hardly ever goes out. The lift pumps are still a sore spot, but you have a lot of options there.
