Fuel pedal behavior ..
Fuel pedal behavior ..
Well, i just bought a 2003 and it feels to me that the fuel pedal is not as 'quick' as on my 94, also, when you remove your foot quick, the RPM drop slower than the 94.. Is it just me ? I know it's drive by wire, but should it be as damped as it?
Thanks for the inputs..

lol normal i think. on my 2004 when i acelerate qick sometimes i let off peal quikly nd engine still surges and drops SLowly , ITS SOMETIMES DANGEROUS BECAUSE i need to press brake while engine is winding down hard
I too have had a near miss or two with the lag time for the engine to stop revving while I was mashing on the brakes to get 'er shut down before punching the nose through the wall in the garage. LOL

As sally said, there`s a small surge of a few hundred rpm when let off the pedal to shift gear.. and it`s really annoying..
I`ll dig a bit to check if it exist a recalibration procedure for the APPS too..
Cheers,

I don't think that rail draining has something to do with it.. when the injector is closed, it's closed.. I'm doing chiptuning for diesel cars, and there are maps to change the engine behavior vs pedal..
well, i'll keep looking..

injector is still opening because it has to idle. i thi nk instead of idling at 5000 psi its trying to idle or slow down with8-14,000 psi because thats where the rail is until its drained
Don't know why a common rail from Ford or chevy wouldn't do the same thing, i've read several times on the forums that thats whats happening thou. Usually only see it on mine when i'm getting in it pretty good and then let off qiuck. My understanding is when under high throttle demand your asking for longer injector duration and higher rail/ injector pressures. When you get out of it the injector duration changes qiuckly but the rail pressure takes a couple seconds to stabalize to the lessor demand. You would think there'd be a relief valve when supply was higher than demand thou because like has been said, I've had to stand on the brakes pretty good a couple times to bring it in check when I wasn't expecting it.
