fuel gelling?
fuel gelling?
its been around 0 degrees the last few mornings. i started my truck this morning and proceeded down the road, letting her gentley warm up. when i tried to accelerate from 40mph to 55mph- my engine sounded like it wanted to stall. i had no power to accelerate. i kept travelling at 40mph for another three miles- the she was fine! got to work and added more anti-gel and checked for codes-nothing. checked under the hood-everything looked normal. she ran fine on the way home!!. i did install the quad zxt box about a month ago, but it has been flawless and i don't think it was the culprit. any ideas?? i am think that my fuel was started to gel and i caught it in time.
Gelling is very rare , with winter blends and the aditives these days , more comin is dirty fuel , water in fuel freezing , 1st change the fuel filter and save some to leve outside to check.
What are you using for antigel. It's worth it to use a higher quality product like Power Service, Howes, or Standyne. I use Howes every fill up and Standyne if I'm towing. Check the fuel heater also and change the fuel filter. Some antigels will load the fuel filter with crap pretty quick. ks
