That does not sound right to me, although i have never used a wix i only use fleetguard.. and 10k to get it fixed? what else did it do besides clog the injectors because i know you could have bought a aftermarket set that are pretty trick for about 1300? and they are pretty easy to install yourself...

Sounds like you need to sue WIX...

and wix doesn't meet the OEM specs for filtration anyhow.

That is more than small claims, its a warranty issue... isn't small claims capped at $3500?

Sounds like the dealer hasn't sold any cars in awhile and decided to take this poor guy for a ride..

Ride or not I would have tried a new filter first. It sounds like he and wix have a lawsuit, hope he kept the old filter and injectors.

It's too bad you've had this experience. Hope you kept the old filter, otherwise it's your dealer's word against Wix.
Been using Wix Gold filters in my diesels (and everything else) for years, never an issue. I use the 7 micron fuel filters, not quite up to spec (5 Micron?), but never had any problems.
Sorry to say, I think the ******* took you for an expensive ride.
Worth looking into though, as I'd prefer to keep my 100k engine warranty........Anyone want to buy 5 Wix fuel filters?

(Sorry, didin't realize "steeeler" was a bad word!)

OEM spec is 7 microns absolute (98.7% efficiency), Wix sells 7 microns nominal (50% efficiency).

Recently my truck had been giving me symtoms that an injector was leaking, blowing blue smoke on start up and idling real rough. I changed out the old filter, a 7 micron fleetguard that had only been in there for 7.5k miles and replaced it with a 5 micron Baldwin. That solved my problem and everything is good now. I'll stick with the Baldwin from now on.

Sounds like a made up story to me. 10k to fix a the injectors. You can rebuild the motor for 10k.....Somebody trying to give WIX a bad name.

Sounds like even IF something was wrong with the fuel system the filter was used as a scapegoat. Reason to charge for it and not cover it under warranty. Do they have any proof? Who physically saw these filter fibers and did they document it? Pics? And if this is the case what retard spent 100 hours of labor to do the repair and come up with 10 grand in charges? I'd want the whole dang engine for 10k$. I'd be surprised that injector failure caused a sudden 'no start' condition. Usually you get some warning. Unlikely that they all quit at the same time. Probably a simple FCA problem or something stupid. Screw the Wix lawsuit. I'd be on the dealer like flies on poo...
