FUEL FILTER O-RING?

The Service Manual mentioned removing the O-RING when you change fuel filter. However when I remove the filter, I DID NOT see any o-ring. Where's this o-ring located? I looked really good and I could not find this thing. Anyone experienced this before? Thanks.

Re:FUEL FILTER O-RING?

Look on the "lid" that you unscrewed from the filter housing...look just above the threads on the top of the "lid" and you'll see the o-ring. It's there to seal the lid to the filter housing.

Thanks for the info. When I took the lid off, I did not see an o-ring. Someone must have forgot to install one.

Re:FUEL FILTER O-RING?

Maybe it stuck to the housing and didn't come off with the lid? I'd think lack of an o-ring would have caused problems. But you never know.

Re:FUEL FILTER O-RING?

I think the o-ring is not really a requirement. The threads make a good seal.

Re:FUEL FILTER O-RING?

The new filter should have come with a new o-ring. Bothe the CTD filter and the NAPA filter do.
