fuel filter

fuel filter

after removing filter and cleaing lid and canster and instaling new o ring and instaling new filter do you need to prime or blead canster be fore starting?

Yes. You need to turn the key to the On position. You will hear the lift pump clicking as it pressureizes the fuel lines and refills your canister. When it stops clicking, "bump" the key enough to turn the starter but not to start the truck. This will cuase the pump to turn on for longer. You should then have enough fuel and can start the truck. Let it run for 30 secs or so and then take her on a short drive.

I always tighten the lid down and the turn the key on and listen for the pump to stop running and then turn key off. I do that two or three times then it starts right up.

is there a return line on canaster? how dose air escpe.my normal cold starting procudre is to let pump ramp up til heat coil goes out.then giv it awhirle. i will do as yal sugest.thankes

Yes there is a return to the tank. The system is self bleeding.

The return line is on the back side of the canister near where it bolts to the motor.
