fuel filter
Hello all,
I have a "new to me" '03 and I want to change the fuel filter. I can't seem to find any info on this in my manual. Can someone give me a step-by-step on how to do this please? Thanks.
Andy

Ok guys, I know this isn't the place for this but it's bugging the crap out of me and i figured my question might get answered quicker this way. I have done it before, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to start a new thread on this site. Can somebody help me?

thanks for the link, I thought I had read somewhere that the fuel filter needed changing at 75,000 miles until my buddy Jay set me straight. I had 61,000 on the stock filter until today. I changed it today and I followed the instructions, easy, only thing I noticed was when I drained it, there didn't seem to be much in it, a very little. I was also surprised to see the filter dark but not caked up, should it have been?
Also, the 3 bump didn't work for me, it didn't start, I did it again, only 6 bumps this time and it fired right up. I let it idle for about 10min and checked for leaks, None there so I think I am ready to go.....
thanks again, Nick

If your service your truck to the "B" schedule it recommends that you change your filter every 15K..I started changing mine at every oil change..cheap insurance if you ask me.. When you give the starter a "Bump" do you leave the key on for a minute or so? you should be able to hear the lift pump humming..this is filling the empty FF housing..
I always do it twice...and it starts right up

A fuel pressure gauge for the LP after the filter works wonders when doing this. After bumping the key to run and off a couple of times and the pressure comes up to normal, fire it off first try.
