Fuel Filter

Hi just changed fuel filter today, was surprised how dirty it was, 15K miles. It didn't seem to be mouldy, just dirty. Is this normal, or is it diesel algi that I have read about? Thanks Ed

my 04 has just over 30k on the original fuel filter LOL. guess I should get around to changing that sooon huh? had the filter for 2 years now. safe to say Im lazy. LOL

The fuel filter is the easiest and cheapest form of insurance for your truck! With these new Fuel systems and how picky they are, it is imperative you change it at MINIMUM 15,000 like they say in the manual. Better yet, change it with every oil change like I do and many others as well. Doesn't take long for them to get nasty especially if you travel a lot and use different service stations. I have seen mine BLACK at 5,000. Plus if it's that dirty your MPG are suffering. Filters are only 15.00 from Genos!
