Fuel Control Actuator
Been doing a little snooping around on TDR and apparently this gizmo on the CP3 has a TSB out on it. It is the easy to see when you look at CP3 pump and compare to the shop manual . Since I,m not a member on TDR can someone post the TSB? I've read that before mother mopar wouldn't offer the part ( only complete CP3 unit) and now it is a replaceable part, changed their tune, WHY? Apparently the DMax is having similar issues with this valve. I,m getting a might suspicious as the temperature is cooling off and my rig is developing a weird lopping idle. Whether it's related or not I don't think so. No it's not fuel pressure/liftpump (FASS) and didn't do it last fall. Anybody else with a 03 common rail notice this? **** if this rig wasn't so quiet I would not notice it compared to my previous diesel experience!

Ive noticed mine doing the lopeing thing this year also, i thought that maybe it was the change in altitude and temprature that might have done it, moved from Louisiana to Colorado. maybe it is the fca causeing our troubles.

The EZ I had on my truck would make it lope something nasty on a cold start in the winter temps. It would miss once in a while at a stop sign and it even died a couple times pulling up to a stop sign after I pushed the clutch in.
Unplug your EZ and see what happens. Setting it to level 1 isn't the same as disconnecting it....

My truck just got out of the shop yesterday for this. It's not to cold yet here in the moarning, about 50-55*.
When it was warm or cold it still loped. I took it in and they had to order a part which took a week, dropped it off yesterday in the moarning at 7:30 and had it back by 2:00. No more loping and it idels very smooth now.
