ft.lb torque
2005 Cummins were suppose to be 610 torque rated. I did see early 2005 Cummins with the 600 rating. But most 2005s and up are 610 rated. Probably tweaked a couple of fuel map parameters just like the performance boxes or downloaders. But 10 pounds of torque would be hard to measure at the rear wheels on a dyno. All marketing, it was a "mine has more power than yours" thing.

Mine too
I think it was in August of 04 or so when they came out with the 05's and made that minor change in the computer as a marketing thing against the Duramax engine when they marketed 605 ft lbs tq.
Dodge wanted to stay ahead of Chevy, so they made a minor tweak and called it 610.
If you have an 04.5 truck and get it reflashed...supposedly it is the same program.

They are all 610's.
It was totally marketing. Cummins was delivering engines "centered" on 610 already ( to avoid low power complaints). There is no cal change whatsoever.
Centered is a term used to describe the average torque output of a batch/run of engines (like a tolerence, +/- 5 ft-lbs or whatever).
