front wobble when I hit bumps?
front wobble when I hit bumps?
when I hit a bunch of potholes or even slight bumps or potholes at highways speeds, the whole front starts shifting all over the road b/c the truck starts hoping. I know this might be a wierd description but someone might know what im talking about.
Do a search on 'death wobble' and you'll find more hours of reading than you can stand - probably enough to make your eyes bleed.
Do you have a lift on your truck? Underinflated tires? Oversized tires and/or wheels? Those are the general places to start. Like I said, do a search on 'death wobble'....

you most likely have a worn front end part
i build and deal with a lot of jeeps, lifted jeep are famous for death wobble.
built properly with proper caster and good parts you won't have any issues
wear out a tie rod end and look out
get it looked at before it gets worse. as it progresses you won't need the bump to get it started it will begin as you drive along with no outside forces
at 60 mph it will be a lot of fun.
common culprits: tie rod ends, drag link ends, too much toe in, weak or worn pan hard bar ends, improper caster
new steering stabilizer will not fix it only mask the problem

a pan hard bar is the proper name for a track bar, again your steering stabilizer won't fix death wobble
we run 8 inches of lift, 38 inch tires on the jeeps we build and drive, i can take my hand off the wheel at 80 mph and go straight down the freeway
and i have no steering stabilizers at all. they are only there to slow down wear and tear on the front end they will not solve a steering problem
