Front shaft removal for idiots???
Front shaft removal for idiots???
I realize that this has likely been covered before, but could someone with intimate knowledge of the exact tools needed and steps taken to remove the front driveshaft please document it for us idiots (maybe that's a tad too strong - how about novices?) who aren't familiar with the process?
I just read yet another thread over on TDR about how a front driveshaft removal solved "the 70mph vibe" and I want to try it on mine. I suspect that others might try it as well if it isn't a big deal to do.
Thanks,
Neil

you might just try putting the rear axle on some stout jackstands and run it up to 70 mph ...
i did and found that the vibe is in the rear on the wifes truck ...
i even took the tires off
still there
no change at all ...
i then indexed the driveshaft ...
no change at all ...
it is getting better and with the 35's we are not into it that much any more anyway ...
good luck
