Just a quick question guys, will the hub bearings from a 07 2500 work on a 04 2500. I have been looking and cannot come up with a consistant answer from looking a part numbers and ads. Thanks

Looking at the parts list on Napa online there was a change in 2006.

2003/2004/2005 model used PGB PBR930502-$239
2006/2007/2008 model used BRG-BR930507-$319

I went back and did a little searching and this is what I came up with.
On the 2500/3500 4x4 Dodge:
2000-2002 used the same hub bearings
2003-2005 used the same hub bearings
2006-current used the same hub bearings

I could not tell you the difference in them but all of the parts numbers that I have looked up show that the 2007 hub parts number wise does not go to the 2004 truck.

ON EDIT
Looks like I am going to eat my words BigDave, I went back and I see what you mean about the parts numbers, even as far back as the 03 Napa shows that the BRG-BR930507 number was used for the front hub as well. This will be interesting to find out what this means, Is the BRG-BR930507 a better bearing but can still be used in the older ones and that is why it costs more? I have no clue. I will be following this thread closely and when you find out PLEASE let us know.

Follow Up on hub bearing

BigDave
I called Napa today to find out what the deal was on the bearings.
The reason for two part numbers is because they say the BRG-BR930507 is considered a premium bearing and the PGB PBR930502 is considered the standard bearing, There is no difference as far as fit up.

Hi guys, I'm new the the site and really appreciate all the knowledge shared here. So I have a 03 3500 and need to replace both front wheel bearings. What is the difference in the "premium bearing" versus the "standard bearing"?

Furyous3, this is Napa bearings and not Dodge's bearings, I did not ask them what the difference was in them they just gave a different name as the manufacturer of the premium bearing.

I know that the bearings have a short life span on some trucks and maybe that is why they have changed and are using the premium bearings now. The original bearings on my truck are still in good shape so I havent had to worry about it, but when the time comes I will probably contact Dodge and see if the newer ones are suppose to have a longer life span than the originals or if they even offer the originals anymore.

Just to give some insight on my 94 4x4 CTD I had 180k on one side and 200k on the other, original bearings. I have never gotten 50k out of an aftermarket bearing there is a difference.
