Front End Alignment Info. Needed

Getting ready to put some new rubber on my rig (stock size Michelin with factory forged alloys). Is it OK to have an alignment shop align my truck's front end or do I need to have alignment done by dealer only?

Since the alignment shop will align based on factory settings (I assume), will this suffice or are there other data/settings that need to be considered? Are OEM settings the best to avoid death wobble (I have never experienced wobble with my truck) and do not want to start!!

Thanks!

As long as they know what they are doing and have the proper equipment and specs then it should be fine. I have had mine aligned by other than dealer and no problems in 60,000 miles with alignment.

If you have it done by a shop that does big trucks and or semi trucks then you should be good to go and with out any problems. Never trust your truck to just any tire shop who may not work on heavy trucks and may not know how to do it right the first time.

3.5-4* caster. Since you tow heavy, have them put .1 of toe in it.

Camber should be -.1 to .1, they shouldn't have to mess with camber at all.

I dont think the new ones have camber adjustment unless you put on aftermarket Balljoints

The D60's had a cam available that went in the upper ball joint between the shaft and the axle C. You turn the cam to get camber and cross caster.

Not sure if they're available for the AAM.....

I recommend going to more castor, 5* + as much as the alignment tech can put it up to. This will mostly stop any chance of DW (death wobble)
