Only when cold initial start up or after sitting for an hour our so. On low speed turns after completing the turn and as the wheel is coming back to center it feels like the truck is in 4X4 and saws the steering wheel back and forth as it returns to center after the turn is completed. It wasn't something that slowly started happening it seemed to happen suddenly after a sitting for about 3 weeks. I am at 80,000 miles on the truck I have stock sized AT tires. Any ideas?

My '03 did that same thing a handful of times a few years ago and when I opened the P.S. resoviour the cap literally blew out of my hand....and the motor was off!!! Each time it was the same thing and then one day it quit doing it and hasn't happened since. Someone just a few posts back stated that the power steering cap has a vent hole that gets plugged up and causes a pressure build-up. Don't know how that would equate to the odd steering wheel motion though. Just something to think about.

There is a recall on several of them. I got a recall notice for a power steering cap recall for the 2010, and ironically enough I got a recall for the 06 I sold on the same day. Not sure if it's the same, but it came on the same day and might be worth checking out.
