Front diff. leaking.

saw some small spots on the garage floor the other day, crawled under to look and saw the rear of the front diff. covered with oil. had the dealer look at it and he said that the pinion seal is leaking. has this been a problem ?
Dealer said a couple hours to fix. Should be covered under warranty.
I Just got back from a trip towing a 5800# TT. through the Rockies from Denver to Sedona AZ.
When slowing down in some small towns on the way back to Denver I could hear a kind of faint chirping sound with the window down and speed between aprox. 10 and 35 MPH. Lite breaking or putting tranny in neutral didn't seem to have any effect on the sound. Could this seal have been the cause of the faint chirping sound? Any thoughts ?? 35K miles on truck.

Mine has just started leaking as well. Roughly 24k miles on it.

It would be under warranty but I would have to pay the $100 deductible. The seal is likely on $20 or $30 so I'll just do it myself.
