Fleetguard fs19579 o ring

Guys:
I just changed my fuel filter on my 05 610 ( 15k miles), and used the fleetguard fs19579 from Genos. In changing out the o-ring, the new ring was much larger than the old one- enough that it sides out when tightening. The old ring fits snugly enough around the cap to stay in place while reinstalling the cap. The larger new one was large enough to fall off when spinning to catch the 1st thread. Too late tonight to call genos- will do tomorrow. Has anyone had this problem before, and can you confirm I had the right filter number? I put the old one on and checked for leaks, seems ok for now.

The o-ring always fits tight on mine. The filter number is the same as what I use but I have a 2003, not a 2005, and I don't know if they are the same.

Same filter as mine, I've never had a "loose" o-ring on mine, fits on there not tight, but just snug enough to stay put.

Did you get the "filter pack" that came with 2 fuel filters? If so, try the other one. I just changed my fuel filter and don't remember the o-ring being loose.

maybe they just boxed an incorrect o-ring at fleetguard when the filter was packaged... if the old one is in and not leaking, just leave it...

Nick- I think you got it.. I just called Genos, and they are sending a new filter no questions asked. They also believe that it was a mistake in packaging at Fleetguard. The o-ring was in shrink wrap with the filter, but it sounds like an incorrect o-ring got in the batch.

Thanks all for confirming the o-ring fit.
