Fleetguard filter update for ULSD/BIO/?
So, it appears Fleetguard/DC has changes filters again....FS19856 (DC 68001914AB) is replacing FS19800. Look at the top of page 2....http://www.cumminsfiltration.com/pdf...s/np4-2007.pdf
It looks like this change was briefly discussed in the 'general' forums section about a month ago...https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=146018 But it appears to have no real conclusions. Being it's saturday, I can't get in touch with anyone at fleetguard.
Does anyone have any concrete evidence as to whether this is for bio compatibility, ULSD, or, dare I say it, Better filtration (meaning <7u)?
TIA
Tony

WOW...118 view and no research!
Oh, well...
So....Cummins filtration is telling me the FS19800 and FS19856 are both a 7u filter.
The ONLY difference is o-ring compatibility w/ ULSD. The FS19800 material is Nitrile; FS19856 material is Buna. The wiper seal at the bottom of the filter element is the same for both elemets: Viton.
Hope this helps someone!

I just purchased a couple of these from Geno's and their web page indicates 7 micron. I called Fleetguard and their tech line indicated they are 7 micron @98% and 5 micron @ 96% eff. I assume that Baldwins 5 micron is the same efficiency range as Fleetguard.
