I told him the setup I had now that everything was pretty much in line , so we also decided it would not be a bad idea to add another 1/4" spacer (4 total), because when you are driving down the road you are actually pulling on the drive shaft due to tire rotation, centrifical force.etc..... putting more angle on universals. I hope you get the same results as I have , I am very happy so far, they might shrug off this post, but it may be the answer to alot of the problems so many are having, as for me mine are fixed.
well again I am glad that you have your problems fixed........hope the info served you well

Mine vibrates a hair after I put a load in the bed, until I get out of 2nd gear. But I guess my bearing unit would have to come upwards to put it back in line the way it was before I loaded it down an inch or so. I wonder if their's a shim I could take out?

When I had my '04.5 DRW I lowered the rear by moving the spacers on the rear axle. I noticed much less vibration after doing that. I have yet to lowerer the rear of the '06 but it seems to have way less vibration than the '04.5.

Since most people don't load their truck as heavily as Dodge designed them to be able to, it's been common for years to have driveline shudder due to the carrier bearing being mounted too high for an empty bed.

1/4" spacer/1" of lift is a good rule of thumb, and since our trucks typically need 2" front leveling kits when they run unloaded, a half-inch carrier bearing spacer is usually a good idea... of course, lifted trucks would likely need more.

I drove it to Columbia SC and back today, and I am amazed the difference it has made. I will be pulling a trailer this weekend with 3 ATV's on it and 1 in the bed so we will see.

Dodge did mine in 2003. We started at 1/4", moved to 1/2", ended up at 3/8" best I remember. Mine only did it when hooked up to the fiver. It killed about 70% of the shudder, only in 1st and 2nd gear - - no probs in higher gears.

I have had this same vibe problem at 60 mph when i have my camper on.I can tow a 7000lb trailer and no vibe.Dodge has worked on this problem for over a month. They have done a ton of work to try and get rid of it but to date its still there. The only differance i can see is the *** end doesn't sit as low with the trailer.I wonder if making longer bumpstops so the overloads come on earlier would make the vibe go away. That would be a cheap solution can you buy longer bumpstops somehere?

Happy to say my vibration is gone. I made the spacers with 2 pieces of 1"x1"x.120x7" spaced a 1/2" apart and welded a piece of 2-1/2"x7"x1/4" on top of the square tube and drilled 2 holes for the bolt pattern. Used 2-3/8"x2-1/2" grade 8 bolts with locknuts to attach. Works like a charm.

so if 1/4" spacer for 1" lift is correct than would the 1" space the lift shop put in be ok with the superlift 6" lift. I belive they only lift the rear 4" and the front is 6". I still feel a vibration at 60, would adding another 1/4" mabey help that out. If so I have lots of work to do this weekend, traction bars will be here tomorrow and still need to install my dual rear shocks.

well 1/4" spacer for every 1 inch of lift is basically a starting point. sometimes you might need a little more or a little less......you might have to experiment with the spacers to fine tune it. even then you might not get all the vibration out!
