First chance to tow with new truck was this am and after my 04.5 2500 didn't expect much difference. WRONG ........Transmission was much stronger especially in Tow/Haul mode. Engine was much smoother and stronger thru out the power range. Only had a 40 mile tow but substantilly better towing experiance. I'm impressed...Hopefully I made the right decision when I traded the problem plaged 04.5.

Camper is an 03 Cedar Creek 30RLBS 5th wheel 33' long and
aprox 11500#

 

I've pulled that weight with my truck, plus a little more. It did very well. I pulled the same weight with my other two '06s, but they had 6 speeds and I thought the auto wouldn't do as well, but it does just fine - even on mountain grades.

 

I'm pulling a #12.5K Toy hauler with the auto and basically stock truck. Been doing great so far at 6500 miles

 

Lightweights.... 40' Goose-float 8k empty, 20- 6' round bales--1,100 lbs each.. 232 miles @70-75 mph, X 9 trips.
