A few questions

Hello all happy holidays i have a few question i am about to change the tranny fluid in my truck i was wondering if the ATF+4 from napa was as good as the stuff from Mopar the reson i am asking is I get a discount at Napa. Also does anyone have the baldwin tranny filter number just so i know i have the right one before i get into it. Last one cold morning start up with truck plugged in temp about 20-25F i will get some white smoke about 5 seconds after start up and lasts for maybe 5 seconds. Is this normal or not other than that the truck runs fine. thanks

my truck smokes a little white smoke on startup. I feel its normal for diesels, some will disagree with me.

The white smoke condition is normal. Can't help you with the rest. Good luck!

Heard and I empahsize "heard" that if you didn't use the ATF 4 from MOPAR that Chrysler wouldn't warranty any tranny issues. Not sure, but I play it safe and use the MOPAR stuff. My 04.5 shot white smoke about the same amount as yours but I've just rolled 105k now and on these cold mornings, not much white smoke at all, if any. Seems to be getting better with age.

ATF+4 is the same formula reguardless who manufactures it and you can't by law be forced to use one brand or another.Plus theres no way to tell who's what is in your trans. No one checks for that.Never have.Just hang on to proof of purchance with mileage jotted down but no one asks for that eaither.
