FCA Replacement?
Background: '04.5, NV5600, S&B CAI, CFM+ intake horn, in-tank lift pump, 89K miles. Truck isn't making oil, no injector knock, air filter is clean, turbo boost and egt are in the same proportion as always.
I'm starting to get an engine vibration around 1000 rpm (no load/neutral/light throttle). Feels almost like it's missing on one cylinder. I've read about FCAs getting dirty and causing rpm fluctuations and problems so I figured I'd see how hard it is to R&R and clean and/or replace. Imagine my surprise when my Dodge manual says the FCA is a non-serviceable part and doesn't give any directions for removal or testing.
Does it sound like an FCA may be my problem? Anybody have any suggestions on removing and testing?

Sounds like a possible FCA problem. Very easy to check....3 Torx bolts on back of CP3 and it comes right out. I personally have never checked mine but I have replaced it. Heard you can use spray cleaner on the inside of it and shake it around to see if you hear a "paint can rattle." I bought mine from a local Cummins shop for $110....that's relatively cheap insurance. Keep us posted.

Sorry Hat, didn't get a chance to check the thread until just now. I don't have any codes, and the vibration is intermittent (i.e. it didn't do it today when I got home from work). It runs great when I'm going down the road, and pulls strong all the way to redline. Boost peaks at 32 then drops to 28, and I can get EGTs up to 1350 before I start letting out of it.
I'll try to give you a call tomorrow after I get caught up in the office...usually about 0900 my time. I'd try to figure your time but Arizona doesn't play well with others (1100 I think?).
