Really need to know more of what your problem is.What Erik mentioned doing is gonna ramp the RP to max!Its a good test to make sure its fueling all it can and for checking if your relief valve is blown, but don't let it run for more than a couple seconds or you might end up with a blown relief valve that you didn't already have!

when the truck is first cranked and i take off, it runs fine untill the temp comes up. then it run like crap. 50 -60 mph is all i am getting and it is hurting getting that. that is turning around 1800-2000rpm. i replased the fuel filter 3 times, the lift pump and the relieve vaule on the rail. still doing the same thing. last week when it warm up in the 50's, it ran half good....cooled back down into the 20's this week...back to running like crap. got to reading about the fca and i thought i would test that. any ideas..do have any way to check the rp. it will die sometimes when it is runnig bad if i caome to a stop and clucth it. The rp is dropping low and killing i tthink. give it 15-20 seconds and it will crank back up. took it in to dodge dealer and they said replace cp3 and lift pump.along with 4k. They figured this out in 30 min. i am looking on my on.

The fca can cause what your describing. There is no real way to test it.Only test is to have the dealer hook the truck to a starscan or drb and monitor actual RP vs command RP.It won't give a difinitive answer but will point you in the right direction.

Cummins has them for around $100, might be a little more now...(cant find the PN right now)
Might also check the relief valve, I *think you just take the banjo bolt out and see if fuel is getting past the valve, might be a bad valve thats bleeding off fuel, and you can just cap it(drill/tap 1/8" npt? I believe)

does the truck have a check engine light on? It could be the FCA< but I dont know if thats the most likely culprit. The fact that temperature is changing its behavior is really odd...I might lean towards the rail pressure sensor. I have seen these cause the same symptoms you are describing with no CEL.
