With the newer quiet engines in the 3rd gens. How do they sound compared to a 2nd gen 24v? Thats one of the things i love about that truck is the way it sounds. Not the annoyance that it gives people. I try and be nice. but i like to my baby run!

So if i open up that exaust Can i get close to the same sound as my 99? Im not so worried about the idle. But runnin down the road or cruisin through town.

On a happy note. Buddy of mine bought a 93 ford powerstroke and cut it straight off right under the cab, yeah when he floors it and lets off the thing sounds like my 360!

 

How's the turbo whine on that '93 stroke sound

 

HOLY COW. Yeah that thing is awesome! Some new super mental turbo thingerIt makes 36 psi at IDLE with NO SOUND. Like i said it sounded like a v8 gasser! Says its real good for ghost racin. He pops up to all the new powerstrokes and there like common buddy. He WASTE them hwen they stop to compare engines the new turbo has yet another suprise. YOU CANT SEE IT. The coolest darn thing ive ever seen.


PS, for all the guys that dont know. the 93s where natural asperated. im just a smarty

 

From my experience, the 03 w/ a straight pipe sounded like my straight piped 02 until I got over 2000 rpm. That is when the 03 starts sounding different, and in my opinion, not in a good way. Under heavy acceleration it pops and sounds raspy I guess would be the word at around 2300-2700 rpm. I also didn't care for the way it sounded at a 70 mph cruise but you only notice this when next to a wall, car, or overpass.
