Ditched the muffler, kept the cat, she sounds sweet now. Possibly a little extra get up 'n go, turbo is a little louder, don't really think it spools up any quicker. Has sweet sound to it. If you just think your stock truck isn't loud enough but don't want to go for ear drum splitting racket, this would be just right. Sounds awesome when driving down a street with tall buildings on both sides.... Just realized this doesn't make any sense...Ordered a muffler eliminator kit through local exhaust shop, offset just like the muffler and welded in. On the truck and out the door for $87 and change. Have to cut down on the beer before going on the internet....

 

Is the exhaust smell more potent now?, and does the truck sound like a diesel or a V8, I want the diesel sound!

 

You can smell the exhaust more, but it smells kinda funny with the cat on there, not diesel exhaust smell really. Sounds like a Peterbilt. Sound level is probably comparable to a semi as far as volume too. Real deep tone to it, actually get some vibes up through the floor and the seat at certain RPMs, is between 12-1500 RPM in 3rd and 4th gear mainly. Turbo is quite a bit louder, and I noticed this morning driving at about 60 with the radio off and the windows up I could actually hear the turbo noise coming from the REAR of the truck, coming out the exhaust I suppose. It does kind of have the drone @ about 70 mph, but it doesn't bug me, and it puts the baby to sleep in about 5 min. Not even sure if it's a drone really, just that low roar or growl that you get when running that speed is more pronounced. Wife thinks it's about the coolest thing ever. Also, I have the six spd and 3.73's, don't know what it would sound like with an auto.

 

Starting to get some soot showing on the bumper also now, have to start watching the mirror see if I can catch it doing it...
