My uncle has a 2006 mega cab and wants to straits pipe it.he's said he knows he's deletingg the resonator and the muffler but he's said there's a 5 inch bulge towards his tailpipe and wants to know if it's a filter or something?

 

his exhaust goes from the turbo to a cat. then to a muffler, then to the resonator just over the axle. i cut just infront of the cat, welded in a 7 foot piece of 4" stainless then had a local muffler shop fabricate a piece to go over my axle, threw on a 5" tip. done. it's loud!! if he wants it a tad bit quieter throw that resonator back in under the bed somewhere... cost bout 150-200 for everything. Just did my muffler delete the other day....

is there really that much difference with out it??... i kept mine on when i did the muffler delete, and was kinda suprized that it wasnt all that much louder with out the muffler.... i may have to take out the resonator just to hear how it sounds...
