Well had a plesant suprise yesterday going to workk,, Finally heard what could have been a straight piped 05 runnin past me at 80 boy that sounded good. almost like the 99 did! Are these just straight pipe kits or something more?

 

i know genos garage sells the muffler elimination kit... just turns out to be a straight pipe... probably all it was unless he had some type of muffler like the aeroturbine or what not

 

This is a copy and paste of a thread that I started a month or so ago. Included is a video file so you will be able to hear what it sounds like. The quality isn’t all that great but you will be able to get an idea of what it is like. It is a large download so be patient (5.2MB). If the file doesn’t load directly from the page then right click and click (save target as) and then save it to your computer. There is no virus with this file.

Straight Pipe Sound/Video File

The straight pipe (muffler elimination pipe from geno's) sounds completely different than it did on my 03. It is a very mellow sound much like an aftermarket muffler. I assume this is because of the cat. You can hardly hear it in the cab unless you really get on it.

I also bought the MPC Pipe from Geno’s. This made a bigger difference in the sound than I thought it would. You can definitely hear the turbo sing now. It is a night and day difference. I would highly recommend this upgrade!
