I have the same issue and there's other's on here as well... I can't seem to locate the thread about it though!

Mine cranks fine most of the time but about once or twice a month it will crank over for about 5 seconds before it fires. I was told it was normal. Our FedEx delivery guy got a new delivery truck that has a common rail cummins in it and I asked him if it ever takes a while to crank. He said watch this. It cranked for about 10 seconds and fired up. I just thought mine was bad. That delivery truck did that every time to.

I just had the TSB done to mine yesterday and I think it made a difference in fact I know it did on the shifting it now shifts very smooth and the overhead MPG went up as well from what I was getting before the flash.
TSB number is 18-003-06

I had mine done also. Havn't had a chance to check the mpg yet. I also never had the hard starting issue. The one thing that i can tell you is the trans. shifting is alot smoother. If you think yours shifts to firm. Get this done and you will be happy.
I have noticed the slow starting sometimes too, mine is once the engine is warmed up?? Also getting crappy mileage so far (only 825 miles), haven't seen 13 mpg yet??? Should i be worried, that is part of the reason i bought this truck because everybody claiming to get 20mph??

The 06's seem to have a big difference in MPG from truck to truck even with the same set up. My observation from reading the posts is it seems to be timing related. Guys that have the lowest MPG seem to have the best luck with the RokkTech mod or tone ring mod. Also with the tone ring mod you don't necessarily need to actually mod it to get an improvement. Simply loosen the 4 bolts holding it on and rotate the tone ring as far clockwise (looking at the engine) as it will go. retighten bolts to 30 ft/lbs plus 60 degrees and you may see a gain in MPG , low end torque and the other benefits others are reporting. Personally I have installed the Rokktech and seen a slight increase in MPG and it has smoothed the power spike some, when the weather gets better I will be doing the tone ring mod. Was seeing avg MPG before rokktech of 12.4 now 13.6 at 4600 miles. Ohh yeah my truck cranks alot long when warmed up, sometimes even have to let off and hit it a second time.
