Engines apart ..................

Well, as it says. The engine is apart, new short block is going in. Any things I should have done while it's out ??

I'm doing the obvious, water pump, hoses, thermostat, ARP studs, cam and springs.

What else ????

Take a look at the starter, change out the front seal on the transmission.

Does radiator need cleaning at this time???
Clean and detail the engine compartment so it will sparkle with new engine in.
Repair any damaged wiring and insulation. Clean all grounds as can get to them.

I was thinking of internal cleaning. Let some engine cleaner set and rinse. May have to do several times is gooped up. Mine was so bad had a radiator shop clean the outside.

Take it to a radiator shop and have it steam cleaned and degreased.

Typically costs $50
