something weird happened this morning that i have no idea what was the cause. I went to the fuel station to fill up and as i pulled in, i turned teh key off but the engine kept runinng. I went back and forth several times and even pulled the key out but it wouldnt shut off. I cant remember if the guages were working when i had the key out or not. Kinda like i had a turbo cool down timer. I just let it sit there and run while i was filling up and after about a minute it just shut off. I filled up, fired up the truck right away and tried to shut it down again and same thing happened. I drove 40 miles to work and it shut off fine. Anyone have any ideas?

 

I'm pretty sure the Edge has a turbo timer on it. That might be it. Did you have it professionally installed or did you do it yourself? Because if you had it professionally installed they put the key switch sensor on it (hopefully) and it should cool down automatically.

 

ive had the edge for over a year and a half and it has never done this. i had it prof installed by a friend but if it does have the timer it never worked before and onlt did it thisone time

 

A friend of mine had this happen a couple times with an Edge Attitude box. It wasn't the turbo timer because the truck would not shut off even when he pressed the brake. He finally had to pull a fuse to shut it down. He ended up getting a new Edge module under warranty. His truck is a second gen, but I would think the same problem could happen in a third gen.

i had the exact opposite happen when my 05 was about 4 months old with no mods. started it up and no gauges nor accessories worked(windows,stereo,etc) shut it off,started back up and hasnt happend since!
o, and yes i was sober

The Juice for the 2006 model is the only one with the turbo timer. The Juice for 04.5-05 and 03/04 doesn't have that feature.

 

yeah, maybe i oughta loosen the distributer hold down up and fetch my timing light and retard it a few degrees. LMAO

 

That usually happens when you are filling up too close to gassers and the vapors are sucked into the intake... It can also cause diesel runaway and destroy your rig! Fill up at a truckstop where the diesel pumps are out by themselves... safer!

Ummm.... My Edge Juice Att. had a cool down... So 98.5 to 02 has it!!!
