Engine won't start
Engine won't start
I have my good friend working on my truck. He has removed the cylinder head, and placed it back on. He believes there is still some air trapped in the fuel system. How does one go about removing the air from the fuel system? I am posting this since he is still attempting to get the truck running. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Truck in question is a 04 2500 Laramie SLT 4X4, everything is stock

Welcome.
I must admit wondering why the head of an all stock '04 CTD has been taken off and it's not being done under warranty - but thats me. Has all the makings of a good sea-story I bet.
I'm not a Cummins mechanic, but when changing fuel filters on the 3rd gens, all we need to do is cycle the key a couple of times to pressure up the system; and we don't have to mess with loosening banjo bolts like the older models require.
Again, welcome aboard.

crank it until it catches... DO NOT even think about cracking any of the high pressure lines while cranking or engine running... that is asking for a hospital trip if you do that... are all the sensors hooked back up??? if he had a crank sensor or cam sensor unplugged, maybe he forgot to reattach it???

Air in the fuel lines means he's buying time because he doesn't know why it won't start.
