engine whine

I recently started hearing a new noise, as i accelerate and goes away as the rpms drop to idle. The sound is a whine similiar to that of a differential going out. Diffinantly not turbo whine. Any thoughts. Thanks

If its rpm related, I'd check the belt/pulleys, PS fluid level, alternator, etc...
