Bad!!Engine Vibration
My brother has an 05 with a bad engine vibration. When idling the engine and the whole truck shakes. It seems to be idling fine and runs good. From 10 feet away you can see the front end shake. It is not a normal engine vibration. Any ideas or things to check would be great. We even put the smarty on with no change. Injector cleaner with no change. Truck is stock.

I would think bad injector. Dealer should be able to do an injector cut off test. If not that, I would think compression test...
I looked at a used diesel recently and the owner had service records. One of the repair orders listed bad vibration at idle. From what I could make out, it looked like they did the injector cut off test and found all injectors within spec, but two a little weak, so they changed those. That didn't help, so they did compression test and found one cyl bad, and it looked like they replaced an exhaust valve.

Mine had a bad vibe at idle and it was the TC bolts backing out of the flexplate (had some trans work done and they forgot to use locktite). They kept telling me that it was an injector but they would never replace any. Finally the bolts got so loose that it started knocking and what not so they finally replaced TC and flexplate and everthing was fixed. hope this isn't your problem but figured I would share my experience.
