Engine Stand

My buddy has a 2000lb rated engine stand that he wishes to put his engine on without the head on it for transportation to the machine shop. Its made by Jet and looks stout enough to me. The only worry is, is the inline 6 configuration having more leverage for tipping. The legs on the stand run the length of the engine so I don't think it will tip forward. Is this a bad idea for a short trip to the machine shop or figure out another way? I think it'll be okay but what do you think? Anyone done this?

Without the head, why not just lay it on its side on a tire or two in the bed and strap it down so it doesnt move? Or even with it just resting on the oil pan on a tire, strapped down it should be ok...

I have picked up a few with 2 k lifts. And i had it extended out to the 1k position. You will be fine. As far as transporting it on a stand, you should be fine, but sitting it on a tire and strapping it down would work as well. Juat take is slow
