Engine Light comes on when temperature drops below 32F
Hello,
I bought my 2006 Dodge Quad Cab 3500 last fall, and my engine light came on and stayed for the duration of the winter. I had it diagnosed, and nothing came up. The techs would reset it, and a day or two later, it would come back on.
Come Spring, once the air temperature warmed, the engine light went away. Now that it is fall again, and the air temp has dropped below 32F, the light is coming back on. Thoughts?
Thanks.

Mikey, I do not think the on off three times work with the cdn3500 (06's) due to the CAN Bus programing. The 05 and older will be able to read the codes.
CDN3500 will have to go get a cheap code reader or go and ask the parts store to borrow one to find out codes.
I am thinking he has a failed sensor either near the battery or the air temp.

Yep, sounds like the battery temp, AIT or the MAP.

I dont know if this will help but here goes..... do you keep your truk in a shop or garage?? my truck is a 05 if its been inside for a while and the the temp is cold outside it will throw a code for temperature rationality...it starts and sees warm air inside then goes outside to and reads the air temp and doesnt like it ... it seems the difference between our trucks is if mine stays outside and starts at that temp it doesnt throw a code or turn on the check engine light like yours does..
again just throwing something out there
again just throwing something out there

The rational code is very common in the cold weather. This is the tsb on it.

Yes you can check for codes with the 3 key turn procedure up to 07.
