engine dies with codes P0483 & P0628

The other day when riding with a friend in an 03 the engine would randomly die. Sometimes it would start right back up and other times would not. I had him look at the codes thru the odometer and it had P0483 and P0628. I think it is the LP going bad can anyone confirm that for me? Also if it is the LP is it located in the tank or on the frame some where? How reliable are the stock LPs for the 03s? I know the one on my 02 was a piece of junk, went thru 2 of them in a year and replaced the system with an Airdog. Where is a good place to find an aftermarket fuel system for a good price?

03 is located on the filter. The site here has several options if its still under warrenty it could be replaced with the intank one but i have heard they are on backorder.

Do the stock LPs seem to hold up? If they are anything like the ones in my 02 they are junk. Just curious if it should be updated to a FASS or Airdog or if the stock LP is good enough. The only experience I have is with the 02 LP and would never put a stock one of those back in.

Per DTR Wiki. http://wiki.dieseltruckresource.com/..._codes_P_Codes

P0483 Fan Speed
P0628 Low Voltage Detected At The Fuel Lift Pump Relay

Yeap, he has a lift pump issue. You can get the Airdog 100 in the DTR store. Very easy install on his 03'.

Installed an airdog FP-150 system on the truck today and that did the trick. I wasn't aware of the difference between the 03 and 02s today till we found that the 03 has two return lines coming off the engine that were originally tied together via the stock fuel filter assembly which we ditched. Been nice to know that ahead of time before the install and there was nothing in the directions with the unit to make you aware of it other then it was recommended to remove the stock filter assembly. We just cut all the excess garbage off the stock filter assembly so we still had the two mounting holes and the feedthru tube so we could connect the returns lines together with it. Worked out really well, when I called Airdog asking about it they said Glacier made a kit for that, but we weren't going to wait on it. Only other difference I noticed between the 150 and 100 system I installed before is on the 150 they make you install your own pick up tube which requires drilling a hole in the tank, which seems like a bad idea to me, just another potential leak. The only reason I can figure they have you do that is to get the extra 50 gph with the larger diameter pickup. My preference would be for airdog to include the quick connect fitting like the 100 system so if you wanted to use it you could. We ended up pulling the stock pickup/return fitting and put the new pick up line in the same hole with the rubber bushing we had and then there was already another cap on top of the tank that we used for the return line which worked out well. Overall the install went well. Truck ran good after wards. Thanks for the help.
