Emission Problems,failed opacity,Wa state
Anybody have any hints on passing.Failed the test 3 times.Changed Fuel filter, air filter, oil change .Fuel filter[Fleetguard or Baldwin} gets changed about every 10,000 miles Still blew a 56op.I have no cat. converter as original .DDP 50hp. injectors , 14months old .
After my truck failed the 2nd time,I called a local diesel repair shop and got a 150.00 waiver .Service writer wrote on the repair ticket reason for failure aftermarket injectors .He was being honest but dammit what a pain in the ****.
3rd time to emissions fail,Handed the Manager the waiver, nope wont pass because of injectors, there for the waiver is no good ahhhh!I got my tabs but I have 7 days to resolve this or face a 250 fine.
Are there any opinions or recommendations?

dont stomp on the throttle as hard just kind of ease into it to about half throttle. just enough to bring the rpms up to to where they want you to. are you running any aftermarket tuning? 50 horse sticks shouldnt make your truck smoke that much by themselves

Take the truck out and work it hard, get some bio diesel at B20 or higher, and when you get there for the test, don't let it idle before the test. If you have a smarty, you can also use the 1/2 power setting to get very conservative fueling.
Thanks for the reply's
Thanks for the reply's.... Talked to the Diesel expert at the emissions office he approved the waiver and said this truck will not pass with a 150.00 waiver the next go around! He also advised to go with a bigger turbo for more air $$$$
Talked to DDP they said stage 1 injectors should not smoke at all.The 1 year warranty is up.DDP said they would not warranty the injectors anyway unless the truck had a 2micron fuel filter installed.
The truck is a 03.So the stock injectors lasted 9yrs stock on 7micron fuel filters. But 1 yr on DDP'S
