tow haul mode problem

this happened to me at the end of last winter once or twice but went away with the warmer months. it happened to be again this morning (first cold morning of the year so far-37 degrees) started up my truck this morning and the the tow haul mode light lit up. turned it off and proceeded down my street and it came on again (truck went into tow haul mode). turned it back off and was fine when the truck built a little heat in her. any ideas??? definitely a cold weather issue here. thanks.

It may do it to help warm up the tranny fluid. Lots of vehicles with autos will not shift into OD or Lock the TC when cold.

What Spooler said is true, the tranny will not shift to OD until the fluid temp is above 86degrees.

Im just wondering how the hell it can be -37 in NY at this time of year, Im just below Alaska and it aint that cold up here yet. Oh ya it should not change to tow haul by itself, maybe the button is starting to go, it does happen.
