Emission Code Light now ON

Hello: Like to take this opportunity to say hello as I am new to this forum. Well about a year ago bought my first Ram 2500 Diesel PU and now with 41,500 miles my first problem come up right in front of me and that is the emission code light on the left side of the instrument panel come on and stayed on for some reason, this happen when I backed out of a parking lot and onto the street, for some reason the PU jerked a little and then at that time notice the emissions light came on and stayed on. I don't have a clue as to what the problem is or could be so looking for a little direction here from you folks. I would like to mention that this is set up with a KN cone air filter and a Juice chip w/attitude if that makes any difference. thanks for looking.

Fill out your sig.like the rest of us so we know year,model,engine(5.9 or 6.7) your drving etc. Plus get rid of that K&N air filter.Use the SEARCH function on this site about K&N.

Back again and this morning I disconnected the batteries for about 15 to 20 minutes and after hooking them back up the emissions code light is gone. I think it must have cleared itself but I would assume that the fault code is in the computer and that is going to get read in the near future. I have used Oreillys parts house scanner on my rover and wonder if that one would code out on this Ram diesel. That's the story for now any comments welcome. thanks Skip R
