EGTs too low?? can this be an issue?
i did remove smarty and the temps go up a bit...... not a lot. SW settings with NO timing make things warmer, max 1200. haven't tried any settings higher than SW3. haven't reached 1300 at all. still, all readings are cooler than what i expected. maybe the air flow improvements are just working REALLY well together.
another factor is i'm in san diego, 80 degrees, with currently humid conditions... perfect for low EGTs.
i still need to pull the probe to see if it's getting in there enough, too.
I'm also getting the same debate over the phone with friends and on another site forum. some say these temps are low, some say normal. only way to get at the core is to get another gauge/probe to see what's up. if they were cheap like the boost gauge i'd just order another gauge. unfortunately, EGT gauges are too expensive for that. i need to get a line on an extra gauge and probe from another manufacturer to test it..... anyone in san diego with an extra gauge wanna project??
i suspect if i send this one in it'll just sit on a shelf for a week and then get it sent back with the "OK" stamp. i don't trust enough to take the warranteers word, at least until i have more evidence than just, "seems kinda low". which both genos and dipricol have indicated is not enough to get another gauge.
for now i'll just go easy on her until i get plan.
thanx for the comments, j

Yeah it sounds like you are a little too low..
When I had to warranty my pricol boost gauge I got one, installed it, then returned my other one... you should be able to do the same with the pyro.
