Ecm Air Conditioner Clutch

OK here it goes. My Air Clutch doesn't stay engaged. Light on dash stays on but clutch goes on and off. I can turn it off and then on and will work for awhile then I have to do it again.
Took it to the ******* here in Tucson (Bill Breck)
Engine runs great only prob was air. After 3 days they tell me my tst box has FRIED the part of the ECM that controls the air!!! $1300.00 + labor will fix it. We can flash it and maybe it may fix it or FRY all the ECM. I told them to put it all back together.
Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm calling BS on that one.

If it works for awhile and then it starts acting up it's something else. I'm more inclined to say it's the pressure sensor on the A/C.

Thanks for all the info - I have been really busy and haven't had the time to get the freon checked. Does seem to be running alittle better - just goes off at idle now.
There was a post to me about where I could get a new ecm but see it is gone now. Could anyone tell me again where I could get one.
One more thing now after having the ******* work on it - the motor dyes at idle sometimes.
