EB On 04.5 48RE? Anyone?

Does anyone have an EB on their 04.5 48RE and if so how goes it? Any problems with the trans or especially the thrust washer? Details.
Thanks,

When I had my tranny done I had the gear that the trust washer resides in fixed. It has holes in the outside letting fluid escape and not go through the thrust washer, hence it will wear out the thrust washer. With only 40,000 miles on mine and no exhaust brake, It was warn perty good. What happens is you weld up the holes. Dave hooked me up, I told him what I was going to do and he said this is what I needed. I am ready for an exhaust brake, I just haven't spent the money yet.

So if I understand this right, no one on this forum has ever had an EB on a 04.5 48RE? I new here but find that hard to believe.

Do a search on PRXB and see what you can find. It's been a while, but this was a hot topic for a while. I think most people that needed them got their setups taken care of and now we don't see that many posts on it. I want to get one on my '05 48RE one of these days, but it likely won't happen for a year or so. I'll go with the PacBrake when I do. They have a trans manager that fixes the trans to work correctly with the e-brake.

Lots of people run different EB's on that year truck. There are no issues if the brake is installed correctly.

The thrust washer is a non-issue also as it was fixed in early 04 and was only a very marginal problem, maybe.

Take a look at BD Power's Torq-Loc system as an additional piece. It will help considerably.

Good luck.

I saw and drove a 2003 48re with one on it. Seemed to work just fine.

Thanks for all replies. Apparently there are some out there just not on this forum at this time. My warrantee is about gone and I'm ready for the EB so am gathering all info I can. If/when I do it, I will report.
