Did you have an intake hose off or something? It had to get dirt in from some where? I guess it you left the air filter cover off or incorrectly installed they would void your warranty.
So where did the dust come from?

Pardon my ignorance, but what do you mean by "dusting your motor"?

Dusting is when a motor is killed from dirt entering the air intake.

My boss and neighbor bought a self-propelled sprayer with a dusted motor. They should've had me look at it first, before dropping coin on it. That much blow-by with that few of hours, there is something wrong for sure. Had a bad air filter.

Then, the Deere dealer should've handed out some Vasaline for what they charged to o'haul the engine. Could've bought a brand new engine for that.

Get an oil analysis. See what that shows. You haven't said if you had a filter problem or not. I didn't see it if you did. Filter installed properly? Don't understand what caused your problem. Hope the filter works better than that. But I'd first get some evidence from them that brought them to that conclusion besides the old "mark one, mod two eyeball".... If they're saying the engine is "dusted" or destroyed by dirt, they must have something to base it on besides "seeing" an air filter other than theirs.
