Don't know....but I am happy with what my motor is putting down now. We are getting to a point where we will really start sacrificing mileage for power. Some one will always have a bigger more powerful motor.

According to most of what i have read about the 6.7, its putting out about the same hp/tq as the 5.9

I will stick with the prooven 5.9. If you think you need the power of the new duratrash. Just add a chip, box or programmer and you will have more than enough power at a lot less cost of a new truck. I agree that we have met our power to max mpg now. Remember one thing. More hp, more torque, stiffer epa laws = less mpg.

Think of it this way. Duracrap and Powerchoke have to try to match the Cummins power with 2 extra cylinders, we have beaten their power with only 6 cylinders instead of 8. So in my eyes they have alot of catching up to do to meet the quality of a cummins. PLUS its all flywheel HP which means crap, only rear wheel is what counts.

My 2 cents for this is when will the madness stop. If they keep picking up the number we are going to have a lot of nuts out there trying to pull loads their truck wont handle. Sure 360 HP and 650 TQ will pull a bulldozer but when you have 16"-17" wheels trying to stop or control the load is something else.

Oh but it sure can on reliability!!!!

As for the economy, I have to disagree. I am getting a consistant 19-20 mpg hand calculated, filled to the top of the neck for consistancy. You just don't see high mpg 6.0L.

You're saying that the Ford can touch the reliability of the Cummins? I've owned both and can't say that with a straight face. The Ford is nowhere near as reliable as the Cummins.

Sorry for the misunderstanding what I am trying to say is that my cummins is better on fuel and by far outpulls the 6.0 (AFTER IT IS CHIPPED) Before the ford or the dodge was chipped The ford I felt pulled a little better. As far as reliabilty cummins all the way ( I feel that the powerstroke is maxed out in its realiability power range at the factory setting)

Man I test drove a brand new Duramax the other day just for fun............and good lord that thing was fast. I'll give chevy and the duramax credit there, it impressed the heck out of me............just not the $48,276.00 sticker price

One thing I've noticed is that when a chevy or ford, stock or not, beats a cummins-equipped ram, all of a sudden you hear stuff like "it's not about who gets there fastest", etc etc. Wait a minute; when the cummins was winning, that's what it was about. When a duramax or powerstroke wins, dodge folks are suddenly talking only about durability and reliability. To me, that looks bad. If we're talking about a race, hp or actual, and the competition wins, just say "they won that one." Suddenly changing the subject to who will make 400,000 miles without a rebuild is chicken. Take an asswhipping in that one instance and move on-you have more credibility that way.

Now, I'm not diminishing the importance of durability and reliability. In fact, I think that those traits are far more important to most diesel truck owners than who has the highest hp and can win a race. What I'm speaking of here is the fact that what we're talking about (speed or power) suddenly changes to something else (durability/reliability) when someone else is winning the particular competition we're talking about. THAT'S what takes credibility away, far more so than saying "you know, you're right-the duramax does have more power/torque this year."

How about the manufacturers start thinking about other features. I would love a 2spd rear differential. Or a 7spd tranny with more than one O.D. (5th 1:1, 6th .78, 7th .60). Or an adjustable air-bagged suspension. Making HP is easy these days, most of you have proven that. I want to see some real inovation from the manufacturers.
