dually wheel spacer

does anyone know what the smallest wheel spacer you can run on 285/75/17 toyo tires? I was thinking of 3/8 or 1/2 " but some one told me you cant get a full lug on the 1/2" spacer.

With the stock studs I think 3/8" might be the max but I don't know if that will give you enough space between the tires. Most people I think run a 2" spacer or you could replace the studs with longer ones.

I am thinking 3/8" would be the bare minimum, I just went with the 2" ones in case I want to upgrade to 35"-37" later, plus you don't have to worry about trimming the studs or not having enough lug.

I am going with 1.5 inches just to keep tires from sticking out extra half inch, beyond wh. wells. ( I know, its, not much). ---if they even sell that size, I'm kind of afraid of the aluminum ones, looking at Arrowcraft.com all steel, no aluminum used.

i have gotten 2, 2" spacers from wheeladapter.com and had absolutly no troubles from them. I have heard from a 4 wheel drive shop that some other brands didn't fit correctly or cracked and just didn't hold up. I don't believe that you can get anything less than 2" without having to trim the studs. What is an extra 1/2" anyway, the mud still flies everywhere. The ones I just bought for my 07 cost $375 I believe delivered.

You are right Sip, I am going to get the 2 inch. Not worth having to cut the wheel studs off for half inch.

I run a 2 inch on my 03 and have for over a 100,000 miles with no problems pulling or anything. There are studs built into my spacers and the holes for the sock studs are counter sunk. Think I got them from performance wheel, also I an runnin 285s currently in the past though I ran 35x12.50 no tire rub even loaded
