dualie....torn up sidewall

Yesterday I finally got around to rotating the tires on my truck and found the inside of the outside dual had the sidewall cut up pretty bad (kind of a swirling pattern). The inside tire shows no damage. I'm wondering what could have done this as I have never had the truck in much mud or have never had it stuck. I'm thinking maybe it was on the front and was damaged driving onto a transport and then rotated to the rear to hide the damage?? Any other ideas out there?

Sounds like you had a rock stuck between the duals.

I was thinking rock also but it should have left a mark on both of them if i'm thinking right. Not sure because when i can tel theirs a rock i stop and pull it out because i like my fenders. could have straddled something with the tires that just caught that one sidewall
