Driveabilty problem on a 04

Hello Folks
I haven't been on the site for a long time, I need to find time to get back on here.

We have a 2004 3500 with just shy of 200K on her.
On a recent quick Trip from Fl to WI while pulling out 26 ft goose neck with a Farmall SMTA, where running through western NC and the truck started acting up. I have been working on and operating diesel engines for a long time, but the engine was acting like it was missing and cutting out and then taking off again. I do not have a better way to describe the way it was acting. We made it home with the truck acting up from time to time.

I have a MADUSA fuel pump and was running 22 psi of fuel pressure.
Years ago I installed a 2 micron fuel filter after the stock fuel filter, prior to the trip I changed all the filters fuel and oil.

Driving the truck without a trailer hooked to it, it seems to run fine until warmed up and then it starts acting up again.

I am not seeing any white smoke.
I checked the codes and had P0483 (Fan under-speed)
The truck starts and idles fine just like it always has.
How can I tell if I have some or a injector going bad?? We do have a Cummins service center in Jacksonville FL, I can stop there and see if they have a injector tester.

Any ideas on the problem?
I put off fixing the truck for about a month now, she has been sitting waiting for me to find some time to spend with her.
Thanks in advance.
See Ya
Chris

Bringing this back to the top for more attention.
I am familiar with old school injectors/pumps I do not know squat when it comes to the new electronic fired injectors like on the 03s and newer.

Back in the day you could open a fuel line or push down on the injector (Detroit Diesel) and you could find the bad injector /cylinder. Now with the computers doing everything I am at a loss. I need to find a Tech school and learn some of this new stuff.
Any help in this would be great.
I am thinking I have a injector/injectors problem, I have read that with the way they cycle so many times per firing that they maybe the problem.
I am not one to just go throw money at a problem without researching the problem first.
I served 21 years in the USMC and we didn't have this computerized carp back then.
Thanks again for any and all help on figuring out this problem.
See Ya
Chris

Well the fan under speed could be doing it! If not cooling it could be trying to slow you down so it can cool down! Fix the fan then see if you are ok!
