Question Does TSB 18-037-04 include high idle control?

Which TSB is the high idle via cruise control buttons in?

I'm scheduled for the 18-037-04 re-flash next Friday and would like to have that high idle feature programmed in while I'm there.

Anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

DT.

Yes the program is in the flash, but the tech will have to go back in with the scan tool and "enable" it.

Just did it.

Get a DRBIII with up-to-date software in it.
Plug DRB into truck.
Pick "run DRBIII in stand alone mode"
Pick "Diagnostics"
Pick "Engine" (a list of engine diags will pop up, including the injector disable diag)
pick "Misc."
pick "Idle up feature"
Read description of idle up feature.
Push 1 or 2 (can't remember) to enable.
Push "page back"

Done. JUST like it says in the TSB

Anybody know of a dealer in south west Ohio area that has enabled the high idle feature in an 04.5? My dealer states that it can not be done. I just can't get them to look into this any further.

Mudpup, perhaps you could suggest that you have a friend, out of state, who is a tech for Dodge, and he described the procedure to you to explain to your dealer.

DON'T mention the word "internet" because all dealers think everything you read on the 'net is poop.

Wexman,

That is good advice but, unfortunatly I have already mentioned the internet. I have had my truck in 4 times trying to get the high idle enabled. I just don't think I can convince them to try again. I think I'll just hunt for a dealer that knows how to do it. Wish I had thought of saying I new a tech in the first place.

Make a deal, have the tech bring out the DRB, you get to watch/point, and if you can get it to work it's free, otherwise you need to pay a half hour of labor.

Only reason it might not work is if the software in the DRB is old.
