Does Trf case have to come out??
When pulling the trans in a 4x4, do you have to pull the trf case out too? I'm thinking about getting a converter and I may install it myself and save the $500.00 installation charge if it's not too much of a hassle.
Dodgezilla,
I think the short answer is yes
Below steps are from my '03 service manual:
"
(20) On 4X4 models, remove transfer case with
transmission jack or aid of helper.
…
(24) Carefully work transmission and torque converter
assembly rearward off engine block dowels.
(25) Lower transmission and remove assembly
from under the vehicle.
