Over a 1500 mile run, I averaged 18.73 mpg. On the highway it's over 20 mpg. On the street it's about 17+. I do alot of highway miles(700 a week)
Highway mpg is consistently 20+, with the a/c or not, at 70mph.
Cheers
Mike

When towing my 14500lb toyhauler i have seen the overhead go to 8 mpg. 14 is the best I've got around town in 2 tanks of fuel so far, hopefully with time and miles it will get better.

Well, Wetspirit, when I gave my avg. of 21mpg that was a combined average of every tankfull since I bout this thing in Aug. of '04 a total of 42,000mi or so. It's actually 20.84mpg so I just rounded up for the poll. The worst ever was 14.7 this past March between Amarillo and Gallup, NM towing my Jeep on I-40@70mph. As i said before, best was a little over 24.5 traveling the Natchez Trace at a constant 55-65mph for extended periods of time. Real world everyday driving without trips to dragstrip, combined city, rural, freeway driving (about equal between all three) 19-22mpg.

In the SUMMER I get 20.5-23.7 depending on speed 60-75 mph and grades. Winter sucks the big one on blended fuel, 17.5-19.5 Bio-diesel B20 gets me the same as winter fuel . Any city stop and go blows period. Must be something about getting 7000lbs moving.....ya think?

Best ever unloaded was 20.9mpg with 438 miles on the tank. Now with that 20.9mpg my box was on stage2 and driving 70mph. Normally with all highway I usually get between 17-19 mpg with cruise.

I'm running a solid 20.9 mpg hand calculated @70 mph cruise control set unloaded full of fuel.

I get 18.3 pulling my 7x16 Carson enclosed trailer 5-6k lbs @ 62mph cruise control set.

Granted these are flatland numbers, in the hills I suffer considerably!!

850 mile RT from Rochester to NYC in April netted mid 18's on an 04 auto with a QC full of people and one fat dog (see my photos ) At the time, using stanadyne and winter blend with no swiss cheese. Ave. MPH was over 50 for the trip. (Never over 70). This includes idle time at rest stops and some city driving. 11 K on the odo at the time

I went elk hunting to colorado. Using cruise I never went over 70. I got 19.5 the whole way there. from MN to CO. I-80 all the way No trailer just the truck and my gear. On the way back I went 85 and got 18. I use the computer and I check the computer with a calculator everytime I fill. I really want to know what I am getting. Around town driving 17.5 always. My truck is a 2005 2500 CTD bone stock. I have 20K miles. I run Valvoline 5w-40 cummins oil. I have a topper. that is about it. I think this is pretty good mileage for this size truck. My 84 suburban did better but it was a 6.2 Liter "dog" couldn't even get out of its own way.

On my short drive to work (about 3 miles, with tons of lights) I get around 13.5mpg. On the freeway I average about 19-21mpg withan all time best of 24.5.
Too bad most of my miles are going to work.
